What a gentleman, and a gentle man! I thought so highly of Denis, and looked forward to running into him at the VNA rummage sale twice a year. We’d share a few words and a laugh or two. He always asked about my husband and our children. He had coached our daughter Darcey in a Bernardsville Basketball rec program. He was just a wonderful and nice person. I will miss running into him around the Somerset Hills area. God Bless. Donna Brooten, Peapack-Gladstone.

To the Family of Denis Dooley:
I was so sorry to learn of Denis's passing! May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in the wonderful memories of him.
I was a co-worker with Denis at the USGA and always enjoyed my conversations with him. I found him to be such a kind and gentle man. Denis was of particular help to me in getting various packages sent to my two nephews when they were in
military service in Iraq. He arranged in getting them on a transport from Fort Monmouth and for that I will be eternally grateful to him.
God bless you and your family in this time of loss.

Mr. Dooley was a kind, patient man— Always smiling and full of love and support for everyone. He shared his passion for basketball with me from the age of 10 when I first met him as my coach. As a result of his leadership of the Bernardsville Recreation Basketball program for girls, I learned a game I love so much and continue to coach my nephews to this day. Thank you, Mr. Dooley, for sharing your time with me in elementary and in high school as my coach. You’ve undoubtedly touched so many people with your warm smile and gentle way.

I had the honor of working with Denis Dooley for the last 15 years at Career Forum meetings while Denis represented the Somerset Hills YMCA.
I could see from my early days how focused Denis was in helping guide attendees who were in job or career transitions. And his smile with folks he was dealing with was always just so warm, meaningful, and special.
In my heart, over the years, I could see how Denis loved his beautiful family. They were so special to him in so many ways. And his desire to support the family truly led him to supporting his local communities any way he could.
I am truly going to miss Denis big time for his many ways of helping and caring. What a beautiful example he was for so many in his life.
Thank you for being my friend, Denis.
May the Good Lord bless Denis as he is now with Him, forever and ever.
