Obituary of Myrtle Martin

Myrtle Louise Martin of Bernardsville, NJ passed away at home on Saturday October 26th. She leaves her beloved husband of 55 years, Arthur George Martin Jr. , a son Matthew George Martin and his wife Beth of Gilbert Arizona; and a daughter Heather Joy Wittmann her husband Robert Wittmann and beloved granddaughter Estelle Margaret Wittmann. She also leaves nephews Mark Wheeler and Husband Tom Huffman, of Longview Washington, and Paul Wheeler of Chandler Arizona as well as several grand nieces and nephews.

Myrtle lived a life of giving of help and hope to those in need. For more than 40 years, she and Arthur partnered in the mission work of Bishop Janes UMC Of Basking Ridge. She also worked for many years with Arthur at the Visiting Nurse Rummage Sale in Far Hills, NJ.

Throughout her life she always found ways to help individuals in any way she could. Her hope and lifelong goal was to make this world a better place through her actions.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Doctors Without Borders, the Salvation Army, or Bishop Janes UMC.

Visitation will be held Friday Nov. 1, 2019 4-7pm at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 11:00am at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church, 22 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ.
