Obituary of Frederick Carpenter

Frederick Joseph Carpenter, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2012 at his home in Basking Ridge. Fred was born and raised in Paterson and was a resident of Basking Ridge for 42 years. He attended Saint John Cathedral High School in Paterson and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 where he served proudly for three years. Fred was a member of the Dartmouth College class of 1946. He met his wife Mary Elizabeth Moore in 1955 and shared 54 wonderful years raising four children. Fred was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. Carpenter (nee Moore) devoted father of the late Mary Frances, John (and Lauren), Ann and Richard (Shea) of Basking Ridge and Peter (and Maureen) of Hopkinton, NH. He also leaves cherished grandchildren Morgain and Ann Fitzpatrick, Sarah, Hannah and Thomas Carpenter and Daniel, Mary and Thomas Shea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Saint James Church, 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mt Airy Road, Basking Ridge.
