I am terribly sorry for your loss of your son. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family. Someone shared the following poem with me while I was grieving the loss of my sister.....
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die. ---Mary Elizabeth Frye

Christopher’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

My Dear Bacci-Kragie Family:
“What do you think has become of the young and old men?
What do you think has become of the women and
children?
They are alive and well somewhere;
The smallest sprouts show there is really no death,
And if ever there was it led forward life, and does not wait
at the end to arrest it,
And ceased the moment life appeared.
All goes onward and outward…and nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed ..."
I include this excerpt from Whitman's Leaves of Grass because, although I wish I had the right words to comfort you, I do not. Know that I care and that, whatever you need, I am here for you all.

At my wedding, we threw the bouquet and garter belt into the same pit of single friends and family. Christopher, 17 years old and way-too-full of mature charm, joined the crowd - perhaps without understanding the stakes. When the bouquet came in his general direction, he threw some elbows and long arms to scoop it out of the air. To everyone’s chagrin, that also meant he got to take home the garter belt...

The dude had a sense of adventure! in his pre-pre school days, at least. Linda and I met in prenatal exercise class when she was carrying Christopher, and that boy came into this world arms open wide to the natural world. My son Jake might hold back when he came to a stream. Christopher? Right in it and across it! exploring exploring exploring. I’d call him and he’d look up, all innocence, and then give me that slow, mischievous grin. Right? That Christopher Bacci grin.
