I was sorry to just learn that David had died. He was a friend at Dartmouth and sponsored me for membership at Bones Gate. He was a truly great guy that I remember fondly.

Dave served as Treasurer for the Dartmouth College Class of 1970 for many years. We worked together closely on the planning, budgeting and execution of our 45th Class Reunion (for whichI was the Reunion Chair) and we had begun planning for our Fiftieth Reunion in June of 2020. I will greatly miss Dave’s experience and guiding hand in helping with our Fiftieth. Dave was a role model of volunteer service, a competent and supportive team member and a kind and honest man. The latter I witnessed first hand as he worked quietly behind the scenes to make sure every classmate, regardless of current circumstance, who wished to attend a Dartmouth Class Reunion, received (confidentially and respectfully) the assistance needed to attend.

My name is Mark Freitag. I am a Tennis Pro at the Sea Pines Racquet Club in South Carolina. I meet a lot of people. But there is only one Dartmouth Dave. I absolutely love him. Dave is one of my favorite people. I feel so lucky I had the opportunity to meet such a wonderful person... he really touched my life. What a guy. A true gentleman. I will miss him. Next year when Dartmouth plays Penn in football, I will feel empty.
I love you David.

David’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5: 28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

Although David and I had not had much if any contact since our shared days at Dartmouth, I remember him as a cheerful and supportive fellow brother of Bones Gate fraternity and I am saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences are to his family and friends.

I was a classmate and Bones Gate Fraternity brother of David's. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I was from New Mexico and on several occasions David invited to spend holiday week-ends with him and his delightful family in NH. I appreciated his extending this friendship to me very much. He was a good man and friend.

I met David when I joined Copper Springs Tennis Club almost 20 years ago. I had many matches with David as a partner, and as an opponent. He enjoyed playing as much as I did. It was great to also have him as a member of the Copper Springs Tennis Team, which started 8 years ago when the old owner departed. David was a friend and gentleman. Sad he is gone, but there are plenty of good memories.
