Obituary of Marian J Meister
Marian J. Meister, Grandma Meister, age 100, of Easton, PA, passed
peacefully from this life to the next on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
Born November 16, 1917, in Traverse City, Michigan, Marian lived in
various places throughout her life but spent the majority of her life
in Linden, NJ, then moving to Basking Ridge and living out her life in
Easton. She is preceded in death by 2 husbands, James Johnson and
Donald C. Meister, Sr. and 2 children, Douglas and Danielle Meister.
She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Janice Barrett
(James); Mary Jane Williams; and Donald, II (Maryann); seven
grandchildren, Donna Fuld and Kimberly Bergeron, Geoffrey and James
Barrett, and Nicole, Kristin and Donald Meister, III; 6
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Grandma Meister was the biggest Yankees and girls softball fan and
spent the past 18 years traveling nationwide watching her beloved
Jersey Inferno softball team compete in tournaments. Players and
college coaches across the country knew and loved her and would always
see Grandma rooting for her team and yelling “Hit the damn ball!” She
also loved her Alabama softball…”Roll Tide!” Grandma led a very full
life and will be missed by all.
Viewing will be at the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley
Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2017 from 4 :00 to
7:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at
11:00am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ. For further
