Dear Jane and family,
I am Claudia, the oldest daughter of Carole and Caesar Plietz. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you navigate through the loss of your wonderful Dad and Grandfather. Your Dad was always a dear friend to my parents and I am sure they are welcoming him into heaven with them. He lived a long and meaningful life; but that doesn't make his leaving you all any easier. May God bless him and all of you.
Sending much love, Claudia & Don

My friend Joe Pocoroba was a fine man and a good soldier. Post WWII, he was a faithful member of the 117th Cavalry Association and The Essex Troop Association. During my time as editor of The SPUR newsletter, Joe could be counted on for good wartime and postwar info on his fellow cavalrymen who trained and fought the Germans together. He loved to meet and dine with his comrades their quarterly meeting of the "Class of '41", cavalrymen who were Federalized in January 1941 to train for war - and then went off to Europe to help beat the foe and free the people of Europe. Even today, they are remembered by villagers and/or their families, especially in southern France and even in the German Rhineland.
Rest now good trooper, with your comrades on "Fiddler's Green"

Bob and I were in chorus together at Greenbriar. We stood near each other in recitals and giggled a lot. He was a joy to be with . I was sorry to hear he had moved when I returned from Florida since I didn’t say goodbye. Well I guess he knows now how fondly I thought of him. My condolences to his family.
