Obituary of Marian McCarthy

Marian (Tomascin) McCarthy, 87, of Gladstone, NJ died peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center after a long, hard-fought battle with various health issues.  Born in Homestead, PA she became a Registered Nurse and it was through nursing that she met and in 1952 married her beloved husband of 50 years, the late Raymond R. McCarthy.  Marian was the Vice President of Energy Materials & Controls, Inc. which she started with her husband in 1972.  Reading was a hobby, but family was her passion and virtually every weekend was a celebration of her family.  She will be missed for the pool parties and barbeques, the love and the laughter…and the hugs!   She will be remembered as the loving mother of Kathleen & Louis Carbonetta, Colleen McCarthy, Joseph & Yvonne McCarthy, Michael & Jennifer McCarthy, and Sharon McCarthy & Antonio Molestina;  beloved grandmother of Michael Carbonetta, Julia Carbonetta & Adam Cvijanovic, Maureen McCarthy & Markus Weise, Jimmy & Samantha Sheppard, Matthew & Kate McCarthy, Isabelle McCarthy, Oliver McCarthy, Ana Molestina and Alejandro Molestina;  cherished great grandmother of Claire & Molly McCarthy, Ben, Natalie & Alexandra Sheppard, and Aveen& Annaliese Weise.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. from 10:00am - 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 12Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
