Obituary of Carol Purvis

Carol B. Purvis, 52, passed away on November 12, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ after a courageous battle with cancer. She showed amazing strength and courage as she fought this disease. She was born in Cold Spring, NY the beloved daughter of Dominic and Clara Bocchino. On May 25, 1986, Carol married Mark J. Purvis in Lawrenceville, NJ. Carol was a resident of Basking Ridge, NJ. She graduated from Haldane High School, Cold Spring, NY as Valedictorian of the Class of 1977. She attended Rider College where she received both a Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree in Business. Prior to her illness, Carol was employed by Dun and Bradstreet as Chief of Staff, Chairman's Office. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark J. Purvis; parents Dominic and Clara Bocchino of Cold Spring, NY; sisters Linda B. Dearborn and Louise Ameo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sister, Diane Bocchino. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Basking Ridge. Arrangements were under the direction of Gallaway and Crane, Basking Ridge, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
