Obituary of Mina Tindall Thomas
Mina T. Thomas, 66, of Bedminster, NJ, unexpectedly died on Saturday, Jan., 23rd, 2010. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Louise Tindall and the younger sister of the late James Tindall. Mina grew up in Westfield, NJ, attended Mt. Holyoke College, and received a Masters of Arts degree from Columbia University. She raised her four children in Bernardsville, NJ, where she was an enormously loved teacher at Bernards High, Gill St. Bernards, and Bonnie Brae schools. Mina also volunteered with many community organizations, including her role as president of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), serving as an active member of the Pied Piper Committee, and organizing several Jazz in June festivals. In addition to raising her own children, she opened her home to many other youths in need of a loving heart. A truly kind and giving soul, Mina will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 43 years, Gordon B. Thomas; her children, Tom Thomas, Amy Thomas Buscaglia, Caroline Thomas Jacobs, and Jennifer Thomas Becker; her seven grandchildren, Mary, Colin, Lily, Neil, Cole, Maddy, and Christian; her niece, Marci Palluzzi, and nephew, James Tindall, Jr.; and the many other people whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 28th, 6-8pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30th, at 9:30 AM at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1 E Oak St.
The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Mina's name to the Bonnie Brae School, 3415 Valley Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ, 07920.
