Obituary of Richard Regan

Basking Ridge — Richard Joseph Regan, age 86, died peacefully in his home Wednesday surrounded by loving family. Richard grew up in Caldwell, NJ, the second of three sons of William Francis Regan and Florence McCrudden. He was part of the first Marine Division and served in the Korean War from 1950-1951, including the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. He earned several medals, including a Purple Heart, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Korean Service Medal. He was discharged with distinction on December 21, 1951 and immediately returned to his undergraduate and then graduate studies. He worked as a Chemical Marketing Executive for 45 years until retirement in 2007. Richard is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Joann. Devoted father of Richard Jr. (Sherry), Kevin (Giselle), Timothy (Emma), Susan (Perry), and Antoinette (Sean). Devoted "Pop" to Christian, Matthew, Mary, Joseph, Teresa, Richard III, Emily, John Paul, Avery, Alexandra, Elizabeth, and Ryan. Predeceased by his two brothers, William Jr. (Dolores) and Raymond. Survived by sister-in-law Carmela. His family was his pride and joy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visitation and funeral services all held this Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Saint James Roman Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:30am-12pm, immediately followed by the Funeral Mass at 12pm and Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint James Men of Charity.
