Obituary of William Lynn

William "Bill" Lynn, 84 of Bernardsville NJ entered eternal life November 10, 2017. He was born in Dupont Pennsylvania, son of the late William and Mary Lynn Sr. He was the husband of Rose (Grabarczyk) Lynn who had previously passed away. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Lynn and Mary Lynn Wagner. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He volunteered his time and was also a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. He retired in 1988 from the V.A. Medical Center in Lyons NJ as a Cook Foreman. After retirement he worked part-time at Brush's Deli, Basking Ridge, NJ. He was Chef Extraordinaire. He loved cooking for family, friends, many church functions, fire department events and golf outings. He was an avid golfer wining several events and trophies as a member of the Somerset County Businessmen League and the VA Golf League. He also had a "hole in one" in his golfing career. He was a star bowler making several headlines in local newspapers and winning many trophies. He managed a Women's Softball Team for three years having two winning seasons. He enjoyed traveling with Rose visiting friends and family and many golf courses. They had many wonderful memories together. He is survived by his brother-in-law John Sternick along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and god children. Whom he loved very much and they will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge on Friday November 17, 2017 from 10am-1pm. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bernardsville NJ. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the VNA of Somerset Hills Hospice, Basking Ridge NJ or to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bernardsville NJ.
