Obituary of Bettina Luckey

Bettina E. Luckey, 89, died Monday, July 31 at Morristown Medical Center Hospice. Betty, the daughter of the late Albert and Emily Franklin, was born on August 2, 1927 in Tuxedo Park, NY. Following graduation from Morristown High School, Betty attended Orange Memorial School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Morris View Nursing Home and as a private duty nurse. Betty, along with her husband Jim, raised their family in Morris Plains, NJ and later retired to Hackettstown, Basking Ridge and Vero Beach, FL. Betty enjoyed many wonderful years of retirement in Vero Beach, FL where she was an avid golfer and talented painter, quilter and seamstress. Betty was predeceased by her husband James T. Luckey, and brothers Peter Franklin and Victor Franklin. She is survived by her children James T. Luckey, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Tranquility, NJ, Gail Vilade and her husband James of Bernardsville, NJ, Jeffrey Luckey and his wife Valerie of Huntington Beach, CA, and Nancy Coates and her husband James of Fort Mill, SC, as well as her cherished grandchildren, James, Daniel and Matthew Luckey, James, Gwenn, and EJ Vilade, Cristin and Thomas Barth, and Jeffrey and Veronica Luckey, and her beloved great grandchildren, Emily and Evan Luckey and Emmerson Vilade. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4-7pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, 10:00am at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church, 111 Claremont Rd., Bernardsville, NJ.
