Obituary of Judith P Connolly

Judith Perry Connolly, recently of Basking Ridge, N.J., passed away on July 26, 2017, in Austin TX. Judy was 81 years old. She is survived by her children, David, Laurie, Jon, and Susan; and grandchildren, Lyndsey, Mary, Julianne, Peter, Andrew, John, Timothy, Bonnie, Amanda, and Liam; and great grandchild Gabriel, with others on-the-way. Judy is predeceased by Dave, her husband of 58 years, who she now joins. Judy and Dave lived in Basking Ridge for over 50 years. Judy was born in NYC and lived in Upper Montclair for most of her childhood, but spent many exceptional summers on Fareham Farm in VT with her family. Judy's family ultimately moved to VT year-round. The experiences of the farm forever shaped Judy's sensibilities around God's creation, nature, animals, and the relationship we have to all of them. Judy graduated from Walnut Hill (H.S.) in MA, and Bennett Junior College in Millbrook, NY. While at Bennett Junior College Judy spent many joyful weekends in Williamstown MA visiting Dave and his friends at Williams College. Judy believed that service, unity, and serenity made a difference day-to-day and served as a First Responder for the Liberty Corner First Aid squad. Judy was a loving wife and mother, dedicated to making a home that invited holidays around a table-of-plenty that was open to anyone. Judy's intuition, emotional intelligence and consideration for others were legendary, and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
