Obituary of Edward M Traub, Jr.

Edward Meagher Traub Jr., a long time Millington resident passed away on June 13, 2017 at the age of 91 at his beloved shore home on LBI after a day sitting and looking at the ocean. He was born in Wellesley, MA on April 16, 1926 to Margaret and Edward M. Traub and grew up in Needham, MA and Tuckahoe, NY. He enlisted in the US Navy and served his country in the Pacific during WWII. Upon his return, he graduated from Fordham University and Babson College. He worked for over 40 years in various sales and marketing roles for A. Gross and Company and various successor companies. He married the love of his life Suzanne Lumis Traub on May 14, 1955. They moved to their new home in Millington, NJ in 1960 where they raised their four children and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Over the years he was very involved in various community activities and served as the President of the St. Vincent DePaul School PTA, secretary of the Passaic Twp. Little League, and President of the WHRHS Booster Club. He and Suzanne travelled extensively in his retirement to all seven continents but most of all loved going to their home on LBI where they annually hosted all their children and their families including eight grandchildren. In addition to his wife Suzanne, he is survived by his children, Edward (Enid), Thomas (Helen), Peter (Antoinette) and Elizabeth (John) and grandchildren Peter, Cara, Jenna, Tyler, Weston, Sarah, Megan and Kimberly. He is also survived by his brothers Donald and Richard Traub. Visitation will be at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on Friday June 16, 2017 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St Vincent De Paul RC Church, 250 Bebout Ave Stirling, NJ at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Following the burial all are invited to an informal luncheon at the All Saints' Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 15 Basking Ridge Road, Millington, NJ.
