Obituary of Robert H. Castner
Robert H. Castner, 97, passed away at home in Warren, NJ on November 19, 2010.
He was born in Delaware and lived in Maryland before moving to Maplewood, NJ while in high school.
He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers since 1937, working in construction throughout the state of New Jersey. He retired in 1976 to spend more time in his garden. He was widely known for his tomatoes and peaches.
He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Gladys Alward Wojnar, who died in 2001.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Judy Wojnar Fairless and her husband, Richard, grandson, Frank P. Wojnar, his wife, Kelley and their two daughters, Abigail and Megan, his granddaughter Wendy Percival, her husband James and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Kimberly. Also surviving are his brother Franklyn Castner and his wife Elizabeth, nieces Jane Castner and Sharon Castner and her husband Gary Kaufmann and nephews James Castner and John Castner and his wife Tara.
Viewing will be at the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on Sunday, November 21 from 2-4pm. A private burial will be followed by a memorial service Monday at 11:30am at the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, 42 Liberty Corner Road, Warren, NJ.
