Obituary of Judith Ketterer

Judith Joan Ketterer, 81, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away Monday May 15, 2017 in Morristown, NJ. Judy was born and raised in South Orange, NJ to Nicholas and Julia Christiano on April 30, 1936. She graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Education. She was a Spanish teacher for several years, then a homemaker, substitute teacher, and church volunteer. Judy is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Lawrence Ketterer, and her two sons, Brian Ketterer of Towson, MD and Joseph Ketterer of Hightstown, NJ. She had four grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, William and Nora, all of whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her father Nicholas, mother Julia and sister Virginia. Nobody loved a good Mary Higgins Clark novel more than Judy or asking her entire family to take a few pictures at each family gathering. She loved to play the piano, continuing to use her Spanish and traveling when she could. She was authentic, friendly, but most of all, kind to everyone. Visitation will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ on Thursday May 18, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 184 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ on Friday May 19, 2017 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
