Obituary of Grace G. Soucie
Grace Gelormino Soucie, of Basking Ridge, NJ, entered into her eternal life on Sunday, April 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter.
Born in Paterson, NJ on February 26, 1942, Grace was the youngest of four children of the late Michael and Mary Ann Gelormino, whom she loved and adored.
Raised her whole life in NJ, Grace met her husband Edwin while on vacation in Bermuda where he was stationed as a Marine. After their marriage, Grace dedicated herself to being a homemaker and mother.
As her children grew older, Grace went to college and received her Bachelor's degree from Montclair State University. Her love for people showed in the careers she chose upon receiving her degree, working as a Personnel Agent and later a Real EstateAagent.
In Grace's later years, once she and her husband retired, she travelled between her home in New Jersey, her son's home in Florida and her summer home in Maine, spending as much time as possible with her 6 grandchildren. She was full of life, singing weekly in the St. James Church choir, volunteering her time at the Matheny Second Hand Shop and enjoying regular games of Mahjong and the occasional trip to the casino.
She is survived by her two beloved children, Brian Soucie and wife Mary, Claudine McMahon and husband Sean, six precious grandchildren, Briana, Samantha, Richele, Connor, Brenden, and Megan, and her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Edwin, her brothers Charles and Bartley Gelormino and her sister Gloria Pelosi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
