Mary Chamberlin and Mark Commander posted a condolence
Skip was indeed a gentle soul, with a huge heart. Our across-the-road neighbor since 1991, we remember those times when Skip would ring our door bell, holding in his hands a small bird trapped in a piece of deer netting, which he needed assistance to save. Together we would gently remove the netting and watch as the frightened creature flew happily away.
On another occasion, after seeing lightning strike a tree very near our home and start a fire in our basement, Skip instantly ran to our house and assisted Mary until the Fire Dept. arrived and safely extinguished the blaze. A few minutes longer and our home may have been lost.
Thank you and God bless you, Skip. We will miss you. Rest in peace, old friend.

Skip was a man who said what he meant and he meant what he said. May we all learn to be more transparent and genuine in our relationships.
Skip loved working outside in God's creation and if you worked along side him he would give you very specific instructions about how it was to be done.
Skip, thanks for allowing us the honor of working with you and be assured you will be missed.
Our prayers for the Lord's comfort are lifted up on behalf of Skip's family.
