Obituary of Evelyn S DeGennaro

Evelyn DeGennaro, 99 of Basking Ridge, New Jersey passed away on July 21, 2026.

She was born and raised in St. Albans, Queens, New York in 1926. Evelyn lived a long life filled with family, friends, pets, charity and her favorite pastime, baking. She was married to Kenneth in 1948 until he passed in 2013. They had three children, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Evelyn was the consummate volunteer, always lending a hand to provide help at the VA hospital, Morristown Medical Center, Meals on Wheels, the Bonafides of Somerset Hills and until recently the Fellowship Village Gift Shop.

She loved her job with Dr. Angelo in Bernardsville, where she was the face of his practice, handling emergencies and schedules with aplomb.

As a family we marveled at her commitment, strength and tenacity in all things. She was a role model for humility, grace and modesty which endeared her to the Fellowship Village community where she lived a fulfilling life for 21 years until her death.

Evelyn lead a life that was widely admired and she will be missed by family and friends in Basking Ridge and at Fellowship Village.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday September 26, 2026 at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church.
